Man running a blog is hard! I mean, i did think it wouldn't be a piece of cake, but I didn't think it would require so much of effort! I honestly get tired just thinking of how much successful bloggers like Andrea from RosyChicc & Hazel of Stay Bookish [some of my fave bloggers] must have to do to keep their blog running.
Not that my blog hopes to achieve even a third of what they have. *sigh* Is there anyone even reading this? Or am i having a one-sided conversation with myself...?
If you are reading this, PLEASE comment down below. Even if it just literally a '...' or 'your blog sucks.' Anything.

Anyways this is my first ever favorites of the month! *fireworks* I do not even know if I know what I am doing. But whatever *shrugs*
I will feature a favorites for Books, Beauty and Bytes (not necessarily in that order) & hopefully you will not fall off to sleep or send me hate mail for bad writing & photography :)

[BEAUTY]
So I had a good month so far makeup/beauty is concerned. I fell in love with all, but one product that I had purchased (post coming soooon). I literally set up camp at my local drugstore [not that we say "drugstore in SA"] & carried tissues to wipe off drool when I walked past the counters of high-end products. #sorrynotsorry :p
So my first favorite of the month is my 3D Blush Contour palette by LA Girl in 'Crush.' It features a highlight, contour & a blush shade. I am in loooove with the blush shade. It is a mauve-y sort of color that looks amazing dusted on my cheekbones. Its a very subtle blush, nothing clown resembling, but thats what I love about it.
My next product is my Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in the shade "Nottingham Nude." Aaah guys this color! Its [again] a mauve-y, pink-y, light brown-y, nude-y shade. A very Kylie Jenner shade if you must. On my lips, its a my-lips-but-better shade, This had been declared a dupe for Tom Ford's "Spanish Rose' which should tell you about it's awesomness. The color payoff is great, it absolutely does not dry out my lips & it lasts a fair amount of time. Put this on your wishlist guys!
To get my brows on fleek, i just lightly fill them in with a shadow. I dust off the shadow so its not too intense & then drag the brush over my brows filling in the sparse bits. This angled brush from Urban Decay is fantastic to correct my slightly skew brows [an incident involving my right eyebrow & some wayward wax. Dont ask]. I have ditched my small shadow brush in favor of this beauty.
And my last beauty favorite is a skincare product. It is my Sweet Pea and Jasmine hand cream from Woolworths. I grabbed this one after I smelt them on a friend's hand [sounds weird but i do not have a fetish for hands don't worry]. I'm not going to even try and describe the scent so i'm just gonna say mmmmm it smells like spring in a tube. It does leave a slightly greasy feeling, but its worth it for super-soft & awesome smelling hands.

[BOOKS]
I read 12 books this month which brings my grand total to 67 books this year. Its been a good half a year of books with majority being 3 stars, a few 4 stars, but only two 5 stars.
My second 5 star read this year [the first being The Incredible Adventures Of Cinnoman Girl] was The Anatomical Shape Of A Heart by Jenn Bennett.
This was the author's debut & what an entry! I loved this book. When I say loved, i mean i finished it in a day, rambled on about to whoever would listen & frequently fangirled over its awesomness. You can click the link to head over to its Goodreads page & ADD IT TO YOUR TBR! But keep in mind, JACK IS MINE! Mine. :p
The writing was perfection, the characters were charming & the story, though cliche, was enjoyable.
A much, muuuch awaited read last month was Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot & the 11th book in the Princess Diaries series.
Let me tell you something:
WHY I WAS WAAAAITING FOR THIS BOOK;
O1. Michael Moscovitz
WHY I READ THIS BOOK:
O1. Michael Moscovitz
WHY I LOVED THIS BOOK:
O1. Michael Moscovitz
I don't think I need to say anymore about my infatuation with Michael ;D.
Besides the Michael factor, the book was enjoyable. It was good to be back with the same cast of entertaining characters, i had missed them. The writing was Meg Cabot's trademark style- casual & fun. I did feel that Mia's voice as a character could have been less like her adolescent high-school self & more mature and close to her mid-twenties age.
But definitely give this a read if you were a fan of the series.

[BYTES]
So this is my first 'bytes' feature on my blog [yay!]. They are two apps that I have been using & enjoying this month.
The first is my Bloglovin' app. The first, the original! If you read my intro then you'll know my main inspiration in starting this blog was all the blogs i was following. It became a part of my morning routine to refresh my feed & read all the latest posts [it still is!]. I love the idea of the app, all your blogs in one place, as well as the app itself, The interface is minimalistic & easy on the eyes.
If you're a fan of reading blogs or want to, Bloglovin' is the perfect place to start.
& my last favorite of the month of June is the Skype app. I had heard of this app before but never actually used it. Until I wanted to FaceTime some of my family who are loyal Android users & FaceTime is strictly an Apple app. So i downloaded the app...& never looked back. Its easy to use & the cute cloud designs don't hurt.
But it's not a flawless app by far. Sometimes it does not connect/ring which can be frustrating. Also the video chat itself freezes or blurs badly if the camera is moved around.
Other than that, of you have not jumped on this bandwagon yet, do it asap. Its a super fun way to chat & you'll for excuses to!
